Can we really know God?  Is God really knowable?

While the above questions may appear to ask the same question, they are in truth very different. The first question focuses on the human potential to know and experience the supernatural. The second question, however, is foundational to any authentic encounter with God.  So can God be known?
The Bible presents God as a person with a distinct personality. A.W. Tozer writes, “God is a person and in the deep of His mighty nature He thinks, wills, enjoys, feels, loves, desires and suffers as any other person may.”  (The Pursuit of God, p. 13)

We believe God can be known.  Do you  want to know God?

Knowing God is not something you check off or glibly presume. Knowing God is not synonymous with attending church or even having some supernatural experience. Millions settle for knowing facts about God or seek to have experiences that “feel” supernatural. Will you settle for a religious experience or do you long to really know God? God wants you to know Him. Pastor Greg Laurie, a Calvary Chapel pastor in California, has a great website devoted to knowing God.
